Excel Plastics, a growing design and fabrication company, reduces risk and long-term legacy costs by utilizing a Core-Flex approach to staffing.

Excel Plastics is a small business that specializes in the design and fabrication of a wide range of plastics products, and has grown quickly since opening in 2001. They are in the process of completing their 3rd addition during that timeframe and have increased the size of their core group of employees as well.

The challenge Excel Plastics had was that they are in a very volatile market which required them to respond quickly to large spikes in business. Before The Work Connection, Excel Plastics managed their own flexible workforce. They found that this process was time consuming and distracted them from their primary objective of growing and improving their business.

Excel Plastics also found that increasing and decreasing their direct workforce for projects was costly due to increases in legacy costs such as Unemployment (SUTA).
